It is not often that we get a car this rich in history, in background. It all started with Chris Kippenberger, an American-German filmmaker, digital strategist and visual artist who looked for one of the most revered coachbuilders in Germany; Willi Thom. There is no way to contact Willi, no email, no telephone number, no address. He is the most secretive builder out there and works by an ultra-selective referral system using his affluent client base.
This Porsche 911 is a masterpiece that was created by two people. One is Willi Thom, an incredibly skilled engineer located somewhere in a peaceful corner in Germany and the other Achim Anscheidt; head of design at Bugatti. Together, they put together their expertise to create the world's most elusive Porsche 911.
Shredded to just 820 kg of weight, the entire car's bodywork is made of kevlar. It took two years to bring this creation to life and thousands of revisions, Achim strived ultimate perfection. It took almost an entire year to create the car's shifter alone, positioned perfectly near the steering wheel. The car is full of secrecies, tiny details that you'd always miss at a first glance.
In paper, the car puts out 310HP our of it's 3.2 liter engine and at a bodyweight of 820kg; we believe it could fly if you attached wings to it. However, there is much more to this car than power. It's its uniqueness, rich history and attention to detail that make it stand out. It's not built to be the most comfortable or the most period correct build; it's simply a barebones Porsche 911 with all the necessities crafted to ultimate perfection. Until you get to hear the six individual throttle bodies roaring up the revs, you'll never understand why you could say that this car has a soul.
