BMW Carnera

Description

The Carnera is based on the 1983 R 80 RT, a BMW motorcycle used mainly for touring. The bike was named after the boxer Primo Carnera and was build for a customer in Tuscany. The motorcycle received a total makeover, from the tank to the exhaust making the bike appealing to drive in any scenario, while maintaining the classic vintage vibe.

Build

Wanted to make something special. First thing usually is to start with the back of the bike and work your way towards the front. The team started by cutting down the back of the frame and freeing some space between the tire. Also, the tank was re-shaped to fit perfectly with the seat. The bike had to look vintage, so the team made some small adjustments to the tank by adding some nozzles that are connected with a transparent tube, making reading the fuel level on the go easier. The original side panels were changed with the ones in the Ducati SportClassic 1000 GT. The grips, the headlamp hood, the forks and the footrest received some polishing by adding a premium brown leather to them. For the headlamp the team used a custom one, that would work with the insert voltmeter and warning lights. The handlebars are equipped with a brake master cylinder and a new throttle for ease of use. For the exhaust, they chose a custom-made endure-style 2in1.

Emporio Elaborazioni’s team transformed the BMW R 80 RT into something that any bike enthusiast would appreciate.
