Honda Transalp Cobra

Description

The Cobra is a customized Honda Transalp 1987. The Honda Transalp was an amazing bike for the time with a lot of innovative features. It was powered by a liquid-cooled, four-stroke 52° V-twin engine. It was the bike that could conquer any terrain easily and was perfect for any adventure. This particular model was kept in bad conditions. It spent 4 years in the open near the sea getting damaged by the rust, but Emporio Elaborazioni managed to transform it in this gorgeous vehicle called Cobra.

Build

When Emporio Elaborazioni Meccaniche (EEM) got the bike only the engine was working, so the team had to throw away everything else and replace them with something better. The first thing they did was rebuilding the engine and making a frame that would work with the bike. Most of the body is made from carbon fiber and fiberglass giving the team more flexibility. The tank is an old custom Honda that was perfect for the bike and the team managed to make the bike opening like a sports car hood.
For cooling, they re-engineered the Honda cooler by installing a radiator protected by a welded steel wire mesh at the back. The team managed to cool it from both sides by using a fan under the seat and the air coming from the rear tire. The front light is also custom-made using two different types of headlights covered with carbon fiber. Also, the fuel system is completely redesigned with new Mikuni carbs, new filters, and new fuel lines.
To make the riding experience as pleasant as possible the team machined an oversized triple-tree to have a 180” rain tire in the front as well on the rear. The bike powers up in an interesting way, by a secret button on the side, or the normal way by using the key.
The Emporio Elaborazioni Meccaniche (EEM) managed to turn an almost destroyed bike into a masterpiece which is wanted by every enthusiast.
