The car was designed by McLaren with a Ford engine and was used for the Japanese Grand Prix where James Hunt finished third and secured his first Formula One Championship. The car was a real success. The McLaren-Ford M23 with James Hunt as the main driver faced strong competition by Niki Lauda that year. This was an incredible year for McLaren. This poster shows the car during the race of 1976 at the Fuji Speedway where James Hunt managed to end the race in 3rd place.
