Product description

This limited edition poster from Automobilist depicts the iconic car that started it all - Porsche 356S. It represented the birth of a legend. It all started in Gmund, Austria in 1948 and continued throughout the early 50' with only 50 cars ever made with a starting price of $3,750. The car gained popularity from every corner of the world and featured lightweight and nimble-handling, rear-engine, rear-wheel drive, two-door available both in hardtop coupé and open configurations.
The poster shows the car during the LeMans 24Hour race of 1951. The Porsche 356SL managed to finish the race in 20th place overall but first in its class (751-1100cc) despite the terrible weather condition, raining 2/3 of the race. With French drivers Auguste Veuillet and Edmond Mouche, they managed to be the first one to make Porsche end a LeMans race successfully. That year from 60 cars only 30 managed to finish the race.
The poster with this iconic car deserves a place on your wall.
