Alpine PS1: Give Me Something Worth Dreaming About
When Alpine says “special project”, I want to see how far it is willing to go.
I like the moment just before a car is revealed. There is still room for an idea to be bigger than the image. With PS1, Alpine has given us a name, a headlamp and an appointment. For now, that is enough to make me curious.
What Alpine has actually announced
PS1 stands for Projet Spécial 1. Alpine describes it as a concept within its special-projects activity, alongside its everyday models and the A110 icon. The complete reveal is scheduled for 12 October 2026 at 9:20 a.m. Paris time, at the Paris Motor Show.

The teaser gives us a close view of a light signature: a white line with blue and red elements in the darkness. It gives very little away about the rest of the vehicle. I enjoy that restraint. A single detail makes you look closely, instead of asking you to absorb an entire sales presentation.
Give the designers room
What interests me is the permission contained in those two words: special project. A brand needs places where a design team can pursue an idea with conviction. Somewhere a new proportion, an unexpected surface or a different experience can become the starting point.
That freedom matters especially for Alpine. I want its next chapter to have a clear identity. Something you could recognise across a street, even before you see the badge. And I want the driver to remain part of the idea. A beautiful object earns another kind of attachment when you can imagine what it might feel like to use it.
Those are my expectations, rather than claims about the unrevealed PS1. Alpine has not yet published its full shape, powertrain, performance or production plans. I will judge the project on what is shown.
PS1 and the A110 Sculpture are separate projects
Alpine will also present its A110 Sculpture in Paris. That artistic preview of the next A110 is a different project, and its imagery should not be mistaken for PS1.

I find the contrast interesting: an established icon being explored in sculptural form, and a special project whose identity is still concealed. Together, they give the brand two different opportunities to express what comes next.
The appointment
Our Paris Motor Show selection already looks at the wider conversation around future mobility. PS1 gives me another reason to pay attention. I am looking for a design decision that stays with me after the presentation ends.
Make something I want to look at twice. Make something that opens a possibility. That is what I will be watching for.
