1988 McLAREN MP4/4 STEERING WHEEL RE-CREATION

The 1988 McLaren MP4/4 steering wheel is a limited-edition, officially licensed recreation of the wheel Ayrton Senna used to win his first Formula 1 World Championship. Designed by -273 in Los Angeles, built by Nardi-Personal in Italy, produced with the Senna family and Senna Brand.

The Story

The 1988 season is the most dominant year in F1 history: 15 wins from 16 races for McLaren, with Ayrton Senna taking his first world title in the Honda-powered MP4/4. This recreation of the Ayrton Senna steering wheel is built to the exact specifications used by the McLaren race team that season, in partnership with the Senna family, Senna Brand, and Italian manufacturer Nardi-Personal S.p.A.

Performance

Manufactured in Tradate, Italy, at the original Nardi factory, the 290mm wheel keeps the functional Boost and Radio buttons, the master connector and cable, and the de-bossed Personal branding of the original. It is wrapped in premium Italian suede using a stitchless bonded assembly, exactly as designed for the race car. Each wheel ships in a custom display box with a pre-threaded wall-mount hook, engineered for immediate presentation as a piece of motorsport history. To complete the tribute, every unit ships with an officially licensed print from Keith Sutton and LAT Images, capturing Senna at Spa-Francorchamps.
