The RIOCAM 512M Mare Palm is a large-scale limited-edition fashion photography artwork by Camilo Rios White (RIOCAM), the first volume in his Mare Series, built around a 1995 Ferrari 512M and conceived as a tribute to Miami Beach.
The Artist
Camilo Rios White, known as RIOCAM, was born in Medellin, Colombia and raised in Ft. Worth, Texas. Across his fashion photography career he has shaped the visual identity of the industry in Miami over the past decade, working with The Webster, Del Toro, Cotton Citizen, Stella McCartney, OFF-WHITE, ERES Paris, and L'Oreal. He is the Founder and Creative Director of United Rivers and a founding partner and Creative Director of Toys for Boys Magazine. His work draws on the renegade fashion photographers Chris Von Wangenheim, Guy Bourdin, and Helmut Newton, filtered through the color, light, and heat of his beloved Miami.
The Piece
Volume 1 of the Mare Series captures the 1995 Ferrari 512M as a totem of Miami Beach culture, the car reworked as a stylised icon rather than a documentary subject. Printed on velvet / velore fabric and mounted in a floating frame, the piece belongs to a limited edition of 10, placing it firmly in the collector segment of RIOCAM's practice. At 60 by 50 inches, it operates as a room-defining artwork, saturated with the color language that RIOCAM has made his signature.
