The Collaboration

NIBIRU is a jewelry house known for its heavy solid gold work and its use of ancient iconography reworked in contemporary silhouettes. For this piece, TheArsenale asked NIBIRU to cast one of the brand's core visual codes, the Alpha symbol, in solid gold as a wearable object. The result is a limited edition pendant necklace that sits between fine jewelry and collector object, produced in small numbers and signed by both houses.

The Piece

The pendant is cast in 18-carat solid gold, not plated, giving it the density and weight of a fine jewelry piece meant to be worn daily. It hangs on a matching solid gold chain built from 12 grams of gold, sized to sit cleanly under or over a shirt. Detailing on the Alpha symbol is intricate enough to read up close and graphic enough to work from a distance, which is the point of a piece that lives on the body.
