The Bandit9 Supermarine in custom gloss red is a rolling sculpture from Bandit9, the Saigon-based design atelier known for transforming aerospace and hydrodynamic forms into rideable motorcycles. This specific example is a UAE-built, like-new collector unit, the only one of its kind in the Middle East, available for private acquisition.
The Concept
Bandit9 founder Oliver Chakarov developed the Supermarine as a study in natural hydrodynamic forms: the shapes that water adopts under pressure, the curves that fish and cetaceans have evolved over millions of years for minimal drag. The wind-tunnel-tested fairings are not decorative flourishes but functional surfaces derived from that research. The name Supermarine references the legendary British aircraft design lineage, a nod to the conviction that what looks aerodynamically honest will also move beautifully. This particular Supermarine is finished in a deep custom gloss red that amplifies every crease and radius in the bodywork.
The Build
The chassis is CNC-machined from 7075 aluminium, an alloy used in aerospace applications for its exceptional strength-to-weight ratio. Carbon fibre is available as an upgrade, further reducing mass from the standard configuration. The flowing bodywork panels are formed to sit flush with the frame, creating a silhouette that reads as a single unbroken surface from most angles. The cockpit is custom-configured to Bandit9's specifications, prioritising the visual line of the machine while still accommodating the ergonomic needs of the rider.
Suspension and braking are specified at track-grade level: Nitron or Ohlins units for the suspension, with Brembo or Beringer caliper upgrades available. The combination of precision chassis engineering and high-specification braking means the Supermarine performs as well as it appears, a claim that few design-forward motorcycles can credibly make.
Performance
The 900cc parallel twin engine is liquid-cooled and produces up to 102 bhp with 83 lb-ft of torque, with a 1,200cc upgrade available for buyers seeking more displacement. Top speed reaches 130 mph (210 km/h). The standard machine weighs approximately 476 lb, dropping to around 419 lb in upgraded carbon fibre specification. Power delivery is linear and characterful, suited to both open-road touring and more demanding riding.
