BMW K75 Scrambler
Based on a BMW K75, the Scrambler by The Foundry Mc. offers a bike full of character and a customized package without breaking the bank.
For Carlos, bike building was a teenage dream. After years of riding, he decided to begin building bikes after seeing Shinya Kimura's Zero on TV. He started with a Regal Raptor 350cc and this first build made him realize that bike building is what he was born to do. Three builds later, he leaves his job and begins full time building. The BMW K75 Scrambler was inspired by one of Karlito Ed Turner's bikes and allowed Carlos to create an all terrain scoot that looked the part.
To create the Scrambler, Carlos had to stare at the donor bike for hours. He began by keeping the original gas tank due to its volume, shape and the useful fuel pump inside. The subframe is cut and replaced with a new one that allows a YSS rear adjustable shock to fit perfectly. One of the most challenging parts of the build was the empty "V" space under the seat. BMW K Series have a lot of electronics, so hiding all of them is not an easy job. An elegant solution was found by putting a most of the wiring inside of the airbox and using a cone filter instead of the original one. The old front mudguard was reshaped into a duck beak fender that follows after the tank's lines. Rear fenders, plate holder, rear light and indicators are adapted from a Regal Raptor Bobber.
To match the increased air intake of the new cone filter, an "open" carbon fiber muffler from LeoVince is installed. The old bulky battery has been replaced with a smaller LiPo one that is tucked inside the airbox. A new pair of Hebo handlebars replaces the original ones paired with a clean Koso digital meter. Up front a PIAA grid headlight is installed to complete the scrambler look together with new indicators. The body is finished in a HP BMW paint scheme and is fitted with knobby K74 Heidenau tires. You get a set of road friendly tires together with the bike.
