The Collaboration

Alex Alpert is a New York based artist known for a spontaneous, stream-of-consciousness style: dense hand-drawn lines, symbols and motifs layered directly onto the surface. On this Bugatti Baby II, that vocabulary wraps the entire body, treating the Type 35 shape as a rolling canvas. The imagery pulls from key Bugatti references: Chateau Saint Jean, the brand's original design language, and the famous Dancing Elephant sculpture, reinterpreted in Alpert's contemporary graphic idiom. Each car ships with a signed limited-edition print by the artist.

The Build

Underneath the artwork sits the standard Hedley Studios Bugatti Baby II hardware: hand-assembled 75% scale body derived from a 3D scan of a 1924 Type 35, all-electric powertrain, and Novice / Expert driving modes plus a Speed Key. In this configuration, the car makes 10 kW and tops out at 68 kph with the Speed Key installed. It stays fully drivable as a collector car, not a static art piece, and remains an officially licensed Bugatti product.
