The Charge Electric Mustang is a fully electric 1967 Ford Mustang restomod hand-built in the United Kingdom by Charge Cars, using officially licensed brand-new Mustang shells. Under the classic bodywork sits a quad-motor all-wheel-drive powertrain making 536 horsepower and 1,120 lb-ft of torque, in a run limited to 100 units worldwide.

The Story

Charge Cars started with a simple bet: the silhouette of the 1967 Ford Mustang is one of the most iconic shapes in automotive history, but the driving experience deserves to move into the electric era. Working with Ford's official licensing program, the London-based team builds each car around a brand-new Mustang shell, then rebuilds it as a modern EV. The result is not a converted classic, it is a new car dressed in a legend.

Performance

Every Charge Mustang runs a quad-motor all-wheel-drive setup, four 100 kW motors, one per wheel, for a peak output of 400 kW (536 hp) and 1,520 Nm (1,120 lb-ft) of torque. Independent wheel drive gives it torque-vectoring precision that no muscle car of the era could touch. Energy comes from a 63 kWh pack built on NMC 21700 modules, good for about 200 miles of range and 50 kW DC fast charging. The car covers 0 to 60 mph in 3.9 seconds and tops out at 150 mph. Bodywork is finished in carbon composite panels, with flush-fitting handles, NFC-enabled doors, and a hand-trimmed luxury interior that stays faithful to the 1967 lines. Production is capped at 100 units, and each car takes roughly 12 months to build to Charge's standard, with per-buyer customization available.
