CRSS #9 Yamaha XV750 Cafe Racer

The Yamaha XV750 cafe racer for sale as CRSS #9 is Cafe Racer SSpirit's most ambitious numbered build: a 1982 Yamaha XV750 Virago reimagined as a sharp, competition-inspired street machine dressed in the gold and black of Yamaha's 60th anniversary livery.

The Concept

Cafe Racer SSpirit, the Barcelona studio behind the CRSS numbered series, chose the XV750 Virago for its overlooked potential. The Virago's V-twin architecture, low centre of gravity, and clean tank lines make it an ideal donor for the cafe racer treatment, yet few builders have taken it seriously. CRSS did. The CRSS #9 is their answer to that gap: a motorcycle built to prove that a custom Yamaha Virago cafe racer can compete aesthetically and dynamically with machines costing twice as much. Almost every component was fabricated or sourced and fitted in-house, the result of weeks of obsessive iteration on geometry, proportion, and detail.

The Build

The rear subframe was replaced entirely with a custom CRSS unit, allowing the hand-stitched seat to sit at the correct angle for the forward lean of cafe riding. The front end received a full transplant: Ducati forks replace the stock items, sharpening steering response and updating the visual language from cruiser to sport. Rear suspension moves to a YSS monoshock tuned for street performance. The exhaust is a bespoke 2-in-1 CRSS system routed to emphasise the V-twin note. Up front, a Harley-Davidson V-Rod headlight unit replaces the original, its round profile nodding to classic cafe aesthetics while the darkened stop light keeps the rear minimal. Koso indicators, Biltwell grips, Tarozzi retractable footpegs, and a simplified dashboard strip back everything the factory over-specified. K&N air filters and clip-on semi-handlebars complete a spec sheet that reads like a build brief from a race-prepped privateer, not a street restorer.
