The Ducati 848 cafe racer known as the "Evo Racer" is a fully custom build by NCT Motorcycles, the Austrian precision workshop, that strips the already exceptional 848 superbike to its essential performance architecture and rebuilds it as a road-legal racing machine with handmade aluminum bodywork and a vintage-inflected color scheme.
The Concept
Manuel and Kurt at NCT Motorcycles recognized that the Ducati 848 is one of the finest performance platforms ever produced, so they chose restraint over radical modification. Rather than rebuilding the mechanicals, they focused on stripping weight, tightening the visual language, and elevating every surface that a rider sees and touches. The Evo Racer is the result: a competition-inspired cafe racer that communicates speed even at rest.
The Build
The bike was completely stripped and the rear frame modified to accept a handmade seat unit, shaped and covered in a vintage color scheme devised by Manuel with exceptional attention to the bike's detail work. The seat cowl is hand-fabricated from aluminum. Frame and wheels were powder coated in black to create a coherent dark foundation for the color scheme. The original Brembo brakes were retained and the engine was serviced, then mapped to a new K&N air filter and a full racing exhaust system terminated by an Akrapovic slip-on. Carbon fiber fenders front and rear, matched by carbon side panels, reduce weight and reinforce the race-machine aesthetic. A handmade milled triple clamp was fitted to the front fork. Pirelli Supercorsa SP V2 tires bring the grip levels in line with the machine's performance ambitions. The electrical system was fully rewired by Kurt, with Motogadget speedometer, turn signals, and grips throughout, and a new LED rear light integrated into the seat cowl.
