The Gucci Guccissima Cruiser Bike is a handcrafted Italian cruiser bike wrapped in soft leather bearing the Guccissima monogram, created near the end of Tom Ford's tenure as creative director of Gucci. It is one of the rarest Gucci objects ever released, a museum-grade collector's piece that also happens to be rideable.
The Story
The Guccissima was designed under Tom Ford's final years at Gucci, when the House was defining a new visual grammar around the diamond-monogram embossed leather that the name refers to. Applied to a cruiser bicycle, the treatment turned an everyday object into an emblem of the era. Very few units were produced, and today most examples sit in private collections or on museum stands rather than on city streets.
What Makes It
The frame and finishing are hand-built in Italy, then dressed in luxurious Guccissima leather across the saddle, grips and structural panels. Every stitch and rivet was done by hand, a level of finishing you associate with couture leather goods rather than with bicycles. Because so few examples were ever built and even fewer were ridden, most units on the market today are effectively new, which makes them equally valuable as show pieces and as functional cruisers.
