The Hervet armchair in walnut is a French-made statement seat, cut from hand-waxed walnut and trimmed in full grain leather, produced in a strict limited edition of 12 units.
The Origin
Hervet is a small French atelier that builds sculptural, collectible furniture in-house, one piece at a time. This is the kind of designer armchair we used to imagine in villains' houses in James Bond, tasteful villains though. Every unit is crafted in France by Hervet's in-house craftsmen, in the same workshop that shapes the frame, waxes the wood and cuts the leather.
Materials
The seat is carved from hand-waxed walnut wood, which brings a deep, warm grain and lets the piece patina over time. The trim is finished in full grain leather, a level of quality that only comes from the top of the hide and ages with character. The result is a chair with a quiet, heavy presence, ideal for a private library, a study or the corner of a living room where a Cognac gets poured.
