The only dock station in the world that pays tribute to the craftsmanship of Modena and its race cars.
iXOOST® draws inspiration from the legendary world of racing, amplifying the real heart of the engine—the exhaust pipe.
Original in concept, iXOOST® is a reinterpretation of the tailpipes. Great care for details and the choice of materials create a genuinely personal experience. Sound, design, and technical precision are the characteristics that allow iXOOST® to achieve the highest level audio quality.
Made with original exhaust coming from different F1 racing teams, each piece is customized and with a unique design. Completely handmade and Made in Italy, OTTO can be connected with all the devices, thanks to the original Apple connection and the external Bluetooth. External subwoofer.
Developed from an idea by Matteo Panini, this is the first audio system for Apple and Android devices 100% made in Modena, Italy. Created thanks to the collaboration of entirely Modenese crafts workshops, ‘iXOOST’ – this is the name of the dock station – goes straight to the heart of all those who love engines and the sounds they can make: the body of the audio system is in fact a genuine exhaust manifold from an eight, ten or twelve-cylinder Formula 1 car.
It could not but have been born in the very heart of the Italian land of motors. Where a great sports car maker, Enzo Ferrari, once said that "the sound of a 12-cylinder engine must be listened to as if it were a symphony," while a great orchestral conductor, Herbert Von Karajan, replied that “the sound of a 12-cylinder Ferrari is like a melody which no conductor would ever manage to reproduce.”
And today, mechanics and sound come together: a coupling dear to all car lovers, and which here breathe life into an entirely Modenese object, one destined to make its way all around the world just like the Modenese supercars before it.
It’s called ‘iXOOST’, and it is the first audio system for Apple and Android built entirely in Modena, Italy, with painstaking precision, the likes of which are to be found only amongst the craftsmen of these parts. Indeed, each iXOOST is carved out of a solid block of aluminium, bringing together pieces turned and milled using five-axis machines, before being joined together with an eight, ten or twelve-cylinder exhaust manifold.
And just like a car, you can create your bespoke iXOOST to make it just the way you want it, choosing the exhaust, the colour of each component, metallic finishing, the kind of leather and even the Allen screws, bringing about combinations which are a delight for the eye just as much as for the heart, and making of it a one-off piece.
And as if that were not enough, there is even a specially-created App which turns your device into the perfect partner for the iXOOST.
The result of all this is an absolutely unique object, inimitable both in terms of its design and constructive characteristics. Yet it is above all an object capable of transmitting emotion like no other dock station in the world can, for as well as its superb sound quality, iXOOST also draws in the other senses, struck by the vibrant metal of a genuine racing exhaust manifold, coupled with the sound of one’s own musical passions. The Apple or Android device may provide the input for symphonies, legendary rock concerts or even recordings of the roar of Formula 1 cars, all with an exceptional technical level of sound reproduction, thanks to the presence of specially developed loudspeakers and an active 270-watt subwoofer offering a quite unique listening experience.
The stylistic aim of the object is to present two distinctive elements: the main base with its ‘sound horns’ and the exhaust manifold exploited as a sound box for the woofer, sealed off inside a small retro-styled bell à la café racer. The console is reminiscent of the crankcase of ‘60s-’70s motorbikes, complete with contrasting Allen screws and two ports coated in fine leather, designed to give the tactile sensation of the refined interior of a racing berlinetta. All the rest is high-precision mechanical workmanship and finishings handmade from start to finish by the finest Modenese craftsmen, those who wrote the very history of the Italian land of motors and who continue to create the supercars of the future.
