REBOOT BUGGY

The Joey Ruiter Reboot Buggy is a street legal, deconstructed all terrain machine built from the ground up by industrial designer Joey Ruiter. Raw geometry, a 470 hp small block Chevy and 26 inches of suspension travel turn the idea of a dune buggy into a rolling sculpture.

The Story

Michigan based designer Joey Ruiter is known for stripping objects to their most primal form, from the Reboot Snowmobile to the Consumer minimal motorcycle. The Reboot Buggy pushes that language onto four wheels: a bare tubular chassis, no bodywork, no visual noise, only the mechanical parts that make it move. It was conceived as a full size study of what a vehicle becomes when you delete every non essential surface.

Performance

Under the exposed frame sits a small block Chevy V8 producing 470 hp, mated to a Turbo 400 automatic and a Ford 8.8 independent rear with a Detroit Truetrac 4:11 differential. King Coil shocks deliver 26 inches of travel front and rear, so the Reboot Buggy climbs, jumps and cruises with equal composure. It is fully street legal, ships with an enclosed trailer and ramps, and doubles as a promotional weapon or a daily driver for anyone who wants their commute to look like a concept car.
