The Lotus C-01 is a limited-edition superbike conceived as a collectible work of mobility design, blending retro-futurist bodywork with uncompromising performance. Designed by Daniel Simon and hand-built in Germany by Kodewa-PMC, its sculptural carbon-fibre silhouette encloses a 1,195 cc V-twin engine producing approximately 200 hp. Limited to just 100 examples, the C-01 transforms the visual language of Lotus motorsport into a road-going machine.
The Artist
Daniel Simon is a German concept designer internationally recognised for his visionary approach to vehicles, technology and cinematic mobility. His work moves between automotive design and speculative fiction, combining technically credible engineering with bold, futuristic forms. For the C-01, Simon translated the Lotus philosophy of lightness, performance and visual purity into a motorcycle with a timeless yet unmistakably forward-looking identity.
The Piece
Created as both a high-performance superbike and a collectible design object, the Lotus C-01 fuses classic racing references with a seamless, futuristic profile. Its bodywork and structural elements combine carbon fibre, titanium and aero-tech steel, creating a dramatic contrast between polished surfaces, exposed technical components and heritage-inspired liveries. Powered by a 1,195 cm³ two-cylinder engine and weighing 181 kg dry, the C-01 is offered in a strictly limited series of 100 hand-crafted motorcycles, including John Player Special, Lotus Racing Green & Yellow and Martini Racing configurations.
