The Concept

Materia Bikes set out to prove that wood is not a novelty but a serious material for road cycling. The TEMPO is their racing statement: a hand shaped frame that dampens road buzz, stays stiff under power and looks like nothing else in the peloton. Every frame is finished in the atelier, without a mold, so no two bikes come out identical.

What Makes It

The frame is offered in two wood types, Walnut and Cherry, chosen for their density, grain and warm finish. Wood construction gives the TEMPO a natural vibration absorption that carbon riders spend fortunes to approximate. The rest of the build sticks to serious road standards, from wheelset to cockpit, so nothing on the bike feels compromised for aesthetics.

The Ride

The TEMPO runs a full Shimano Ultegra groupset, the second tier of Shimano's road hierarchy and the benchmark for real world race machines. Shifts are crisp, brakes are strong and gear ratios are tuned for long climbs and fast flats.
