The Nash Motorcycle KO Chopper is a ground-up custom build powered by a 1976 Harley-Davidson Shovelhead engine, combining a BDL belt drive, S&S Super E carburetor, and hand-painted Hoosier race tyres into one of the most visually commanding choppers Nash Motorcycles has produced.

The Concept

Nash Motorcycles builds choppers with the conviction that a motorcycle should announce itself before it even starts. The KO is named for the effect it has on a crowd: immediate, total, undeniable. Every visual decision, from the deep blue paint to the lettered tyre sidewalls, is deliberate. This is not a restoration or a mild custom; it is a machine designed from the frame up to occupy space and command attention wherever it goes.

The Build

The engine is a genuine 1976 Harley-Davidson Shovelhead V-twin, selected for its mechanical character and the visual presence of its finned cylinders. A new S&S Super E carburetor replaces the original unit, improving fuel delivery and throttle response without altering the essential nature of the powerplant. The gearbox is a 4-speed Harley Cow Pie transmission, period-correct in its specification. Drive reaches the rear wheel via a BDL belt drive system in place of the original chain, eliminating chain maintenance and contributing to the clean, uncluttered visual line of the drivetrain. The KO rides on 15-inch wheels fitted with Hoosier race tyres painted with Nash Motorcycle Company lettering along the sidewall, a signature detail that functions as both identification and provocation.

Performance

The Shovelhead engine delivers the torque-rich, low-rpm character that defines the American chopper riding experience. The S&S Super E carb sharpens the throttle response across the range, and the belt drive smooths power delivery to the rear wheel. The 15-inch wheel specification keeps the stance low and the handling direct. This is a machine built for presence at low speed and effortless cruising at highway pace, the two modes a chopper of this calibre was designed to excel in.
