The RIOCAM Deep Sea Bertone is a limited-edition Bertone photography print on velvet fabric by Miami photographer Camilo Rios White, an underwater-blue meditation on Italian design pedigree rendered with the saturated intensity that defines the RIOCAM catalog.
The Artist
Born in Medellin, Colombia and raised in Fort Worth, Texas, Camilo Rios White built his reputation across a decade of fashion and automotive photography in Miami. Clients including The Webster, Del Toro, Cotton Citizen, Stella McCartney, OFFWHITE, ERES Paris, and L'Oreal found their photographic identity in his work. He is Founder and Creative Director of United Rivers and a founding partner of Toys for Boys Magazine. Shaped by the renegade tradition of Chris Von Wangenheim, Guy Bourdin, and Helmut Newton, Rios shoots outdoors, in real light, treating color as the fundamental material of every composition.
The Piece
Deep Sea Bertone celebrates Bertone, the Italian carrozzeria behind some of the boldest silhouettes of the twentieth century, through RIOCAM's most oceanic palette. Deep blues drown the subject in mood, turning the photograph into a color field as much as a car study. Printed on velvet/velore fabric, the surface pulls the blues into a plush, saturated depth that no paper print can approximate. The work arrives in a floating frame at 60 x 40 inches. Edition 1/10, each numbered and limited.
