The RIOCAM Yellow Porsche Dive In fine art print is a limited-edition automotive photography work by Camilo Rios White, printed on velvet/velore fabric and presented in a floating frame, a yellow-charged supercar tableau shot in the color-drenched light of Miami.

 

The Artist

RIOCAM (Camilo Rios White), born in Medellin, Colombia and raised in Ft. Worth, Texas, spent over a decade shaping the visual identity of Miami fashion. The Webster, Del Toro, Cotton Citizen, Stella McCartney, OFFWHITE, ERES Paris, and L'Oreal all found their photographic voice through his work. As Founder and Creative Director of United Rivers, and co-founding partner of Toys for Boys Magazine, Rios draws his sensibility from the Terrible Three: Chris Von Wangenheim, Guy Bourdin, and Helmut Newton, whose raw, controversial imagery of the 1970s and 1980s permanently altered his eye. For RIOCAM, realness is the primary creative driver, which is why he shoots outdoors and lets the city do the work.

The Piece

Dive In is a phrase that describes RIOCAM's method as much as the frame itself. The photographer commits fully to the subject, the moment, and the environment, refusing the safety of studio staging. Here the subject is a yellow Porsche, a bodywork color that already carries a charge in automotive culture: speed, provocation, visibility. Set against Miami's saturated backgrounds, the yellow reads with an intensity that only velvet/velore fabric can fully render, the substrate absorbing ambient light and giving the image a warmth that paper prints flatten.
