The Concept

Sandwichbikes builds bicycles the way you would build a sandwich: two shells of high-grade plywood bolted around structural tubes. The sandwich bike philosophy is 100% recyclable materials, flat-pack shipping, and a design that turns heads on every boulevard. This 2-speed edition adds a fully wooden fork to the mix, extending the wood aesthetic from frame to front end.

The Build

The frame and fork are made of Beech Plywood, PEFC approved and coated for all-weather use, so rain and city grit stay off the wood. Big Apple 26 inch tires from Schwalbe soak up cobblestones, a Selle Royal Shadow saddle keeps long rides comfortable, and a KMC stainless steel chain resists corrosion. Every component is chosen for endurance, so this wooden bicycle holds up as a real transport tool, not a display piece.

The Ride

The bike arrives in a compact flat-pack with all tools included, ready for self-assembly at your kitchen table. A SRAM Automatic 2-Speed hub shifts gears on its own as your pace changes, so you focus on the road rather than the drivetrain.
