Smart Electric Drive "Blackout" by TheArsenale

The Smart Blackout is TheArsenale's second collaboration on the Smart Fortwo, built on the silent Electric Drive platform and turned into a stealthy, fully blacked-out city car with a supercar-grade cabin. It is the electric Smart reimagined as a piece of urban armor.

The Story

After a first Smart tuned in blue Alcantara, TheArsenale took the opposite direction. Starting from a whisper-quiet Smart Fortwo Electric Drive, the team pushed the concept toward stealth luxury: monochrome exterior, understated presence, and a cabin worthy of a much larger car. Partners were chosen accordingly, Alcantara for the interior, Lorinser for the exterior, RM-Paint for the finish, and Focal for the sound.

The Build

Every panel is refinished in Pure Black paint developed with RM-Paint, over a full Lorinser body kit that widens the stance with deeper skirts. The 17-inch Lorinser wheels, also in black, look intentionally oversized for a car this compact and lock in the intimidating silhouette. Inside, Alcantara covers every surface in a black and white quilted-stitch pattern, right down to the corners rarely finished on other cars. Handbrake, pedals, and footrest are swapped for Lorinser parts. A Focal Sound premium audio system delivers crisp, immersive playback. The signature detail: a perforated headliner threaded with optical fiber that pulses like a starry sky.
