The Tamiya Wild One MAX is the legendary 1985 Tamiya radio-controlled buggy reborn as a full-scale, road-legal electric buggy for the UK and EU. Built by Hedley Studios (The Little Car Company), it turns childhood nostalgia into a real, two-seat quadricycle you can actually drive.

The Story

Originally launched in 1985 as the iconic Tamiya Wild One (58050), the model became one of the most cherished R/C cars ever produced. Now the concept scales up to 1:1, keeping the silhouette, spirit, and details of the original while delivering genuine mobility. The re-launch begins with a limited-run Launch Edition reserved for the first 100 customers, unveiled at the summer relaunch and prioritized in the build queue.

The Build

Launch Edition owners receive a specially trimmed cabin with a carbon fiber dashboard carrying a Launch Edition plaque, a carbon fiber key fob, Launch Edition hologram decals, and R/C replica wheel nuts that nod directly to the 1985 kit. The package even includes a re-introduced Tamiya Wild One 1/10th R/C kit with remote, battery, and charger. Under the bodywork, eight removable battery packs total 14.4 kWh, feeding a drivetrain that reaches 62 mph, up to 200 km of on-road range, and 110 km off-road. Maxxis Bighorn tires handle mixed terrain, and the whole vehicle is homologated as an L7e quadricycle.
