The TheArsenale x Blitz Motorcycle is a fully rebuilt custom Suzuki DR 650 tracker, the first-ever collaboration between TheArsenale and Paris-based builder Blitz Motorcycles, transformed from a 1994 Suzuki DR 650 RS into a black-on-black urban and back-country commuter using entirely bespoke components and an end-to-end mechanical rebuild.
The Collaboration
When Blitz Motorcycles took the brief for this build, the direction was immediate: black on black. What followed was not a cosmetic reskin but a ground-up mechanical and aesthetic rebuild. Blitz is known for avant-garde interpretations of classic platforms, and the TheArsenale edition of the DR 650 RS represents the workshop's first formal collaboration with a curator of performance vehicles. The result is a machine that operates as a functional commuter while reading visually as a design object, equally at home in the city or on rough terrain.
What Makes It
The engine was fully rebuilt, including piston rings, valves, distribution chain, and top engine gaskets, then finished in high-temperature-resistant paint. The exhaust is 100% bespoke, a handmade stainless steel downswept pipe. Electric wiring is also entirely custom, routed partly inside the handlebar for a clean cockpit. The handlebar itself is a vintage Triumph unit, paired with Blitz Motorcycles stainless steel mini switches, purpose-made for this build. A vintage additional square headlight provides a period reference. The rear loop integrates tail and stop LED lights and was built entirely by hand. Powder coating in shiny black covers the frame, engine covers, wheels, handlebar, swingarm, fork legs, and foot pegs. A contrasting matt white powder coat is applied to the chain tensioners and rear disc brake bracket. The seat is custom-designed to match the rear loop, and the fuel tank is a vintage Suzuki GT 125 unit, shiny black painted. Electronics, including a lithium-ion battery, are housed in a bespoke box welded under the seat.
The Build
Both front and rear wheels are 17-inch, a specification that improves tire availability and handling balance over the stock configuration. The 644cc single-cylinder engine produces 45 HP and the wet weight of 140 kg gives the build a power-to-weight character suited to its tracker intent. The electrical architecture is entirely new, with all components reorganized for accessibility and reliability. The combination of a fully rebuilt mechanical base and a clean, high-contrast finish makes the TheArsenale x Blitz edition as reliable in daily use as it is precise in its visual execution.
