The Concept

Thrive Motorcycle operates out of Jakarta and builds each machine entirely by hand. The T-005 Cross was conceived for a rider whose primary frame of reference is graphic design: the bodywork is cubist in its geometry, made up of deliberate planes and hard angles rather than the organic curves that dominate custom motorcycle aesthetics. The result is a machine that reads as a designed object before it reads as a modified motorcycle, which is precisely the intention.

What Makes It

The cubist bodywork is the defining feature of the T-005 Cross, distinguishing it from every tracker and scrambler-derived custom on the market. Where most custom builds adapt existing bodywork or replace it with period-correct panels, Thrive built an entirely new visual language for this machine, one that could sit in a design studio as easily as it parks on a city street. The handcrafted exhaust system is purpose-built for this platform, adding a modest power increment over the stock 18 HP baseline while contributing to the custom visual identity of the flanks.

The Build

The base is a 2008 Yamaha Scorpio, a 223cc monocylinder four-stroke platform that Thrive chose for its proportional balance and accessible mechanical architecture. The engine has been taken slightly above its stock output through the new handcrafted exhaust, extracting more from the single-cylinder without departing from the machine's character as a refined, tractable urban tracker. At 30,000 EUR, the T-005 Cross is priced to reflect the entirely hand-built construction and the singular design language of the finished machine.
