Toms Alsberg Special Edition

The Toms Alsberg Special Edition fixed gear bike is a Materia Bikes wooden fixie co-developed with World Champion Toms Alsberg, a race-oriented build that weighs under 10 kilograms and runs on a walnut frame.

The Collaboration

Toms Alsberg is the 10-time Red Bull Mini Drome champion and holds the world record for the fastest lap ever recorded on the Mini Drome. His whole riding life has been built around single-gear bikes, so Materia paired his championship-level input with their own wooden-frame craftsmanship. The result is a fixie tuned by a rider who spends his time hunting for tenths of a second on tight indoor circuits.

What Makes It

The frame is sculpted from walnut, chosen for its rigidity and its deep brownish grain. The whole frame is lacquered for weather protection and long-term wear resistance. The wood cockpit is paired with premium components: Cinelli NEOS handlebar, stem, and seat post, a Selle San Marco saddle, a Columbus carbon fork, and matching-color H+Son Archetype 700C wheels wrapped in Continental Gatorskin tires.

The Ride

Weighing under 10 kg, the bike is oriented at cycling enthusiasts who push every ride to its limit. The wooden frame delivers an improved strength-to-weight ratio and damps small road buzz while staying stiff under hard pedaling. Drivetrain is a proper fixed gear built around a SRAM Omnium crankset and a TAYA single-speed chain, sealed bearings in the headset, all chosen to make the bike as clean and as fast as it looks.
