The Tripla 1050 Competizione is Italian Dream Motorcycle's track-obsessed transformation of the Triumph Speed Triple 1050, pushing the factory 130hp engine to 145hp, dressed in handmade aluminium fairings and built in a strictly limited series of five examples made to order.

The Concept

Carlo Talamo and the team at Italian Dream Motorcycle started from one of the most capable nakeds in production and asked a simple question: what if a street bike was built with the same philosophy as a factory race machine? The Tripla Competizione answers that question definitively. Every component selected for this build was either sourced directly from racing suppliers or manufactured exclusively for IDM by the world's leading specialists. The result is a motorcycle that is equally at home on a track day and on the road, with zero compromise on either axis.

The Build

The engine was reworked internally to extract 145hp from the Speed Triple's 1050cc inline triple, a 15hp gain over the standard unit. Suspension is handled entirely by Ohlins: new-generation radial forks up front and a customizable mono-suspension unit at the rear that can be tuned per-track and per-rider. Braking is the domain of Brembo Gold Series across both axles, paired with super-sport discs rated to 1.3G deceleration. Bar controls come from Accossato Racing with a custom pushbutton assembly, while the Motogadget proximity-sensor ignition replaces the key entirely. The aluminium fairings are handmade and expose the specially treated frame, finished in its distinctive color through multiple coating cycles. The bike ships with two front fairing options: a plate-number track version and a fiber unit that reveals the iconic twin-eye lighting.

Performance

At 145hp, the Tripla Competizione dispatches the standard Speed Triple's output by a meaningful margin. The Pirelli Diablo Corsa tires mounted on IDM Gold Series rims deliver the mechanical grip to match, while Brembo radial 4-piston calipers provide the confidence to brake later than any road-legal machine should allow. The Ohlins suspension package is not a cosmetic upgrade: it is the same hardware used by professional circuit riders, dialed to work in concert with this specific chassis. The result is a 1050cc streetfighter that genuinely belongs on a circuit.
