The Triumph Bonneville Bobber 1200 Cafe Racer is a fully EU-compliant custom Triumph transformed by Poland's Unikat Motorworks, one of only two non-commission builds the workshop is releasing this year and a signature interpretation of what a modern cafe racer should be.
The Concept
Unikat Motorworks approached the Bonneville Bobber 1200 platform with a specific ambition: sharpen what Triumph already got right, and correct the details that keep a factory bike from feeling truly finished. The Bobber's 1200cc parallel twin, its low-slung stance, and its unmistakable silhouette were preserved. Everything above and around them was rethought. The workshop counts this build as the purest modern cafe racer they have produced, a reference point for how a signature commission should read.
The Build
Wheel diameters were changed to 18 inches on Takasago Excel rims with the BAR Tubeless system, wrapped in Pirelli Angel GT tires for road-focused grip. Unikat's own seat subframe carries a natural leather saddle, while the air-box was removed and replaced with K&N filters for a cleaner intake path. Electrics were hidden throughout, and Highsider 3-in-1 rear turn signals combine stop, position, and indicator functions in an EU-approved package. Motogadget front turn signals sit inside the steering bar ends, the front fender is minimalist with a 1/1 logo, and the fuel filler cap is milled and black-anodized. Clip-ons, mirror mounts, footpegs, and exhaust ends are all Unikat house parts, paired with Womet-Tech sports levers and leather grips with red thread stitching.
Performance
The 1200cc liquid-cooled parallel twin retains its 78 PS output at 6100 rpm, delivering the low-end torque the Bobber platform is known for. The 18-inch wheel setup with Pirelli Angel GT rubber sharpens turn-in and gives the bike a more responsive character than the factory Bobber's larger front hoop. Suspension covers, lowered clip-ons, and rear-shifted footpegs place the rider in a committed cafe racer position without breaking the Bobber's low-slung visual language. The result is a Triumph that reads as a bobber standing still and rides as a cafe racer in motion.
