Honda XR600 Tracker #34

The Honda XR600 street tracker by Herencia Custom Garage is project #34: a 1994 XR600R reborn as a purpose-built tracker with a fully custom fuel tank, rebuilt subframe, and a surfboard carrier as standard equipment.

The Concept

Herencia Custom Garage has built more trackers than almost any shop in South America, and project #34 reflects the cumulative knowledge of every build that preceded it. The donor is a 1994 Honda XR600R, a legendary single-cylinder off-road machine with a reputation for near-indestructible reliability. Herencia took that foundation and reinterpreted it as a dual-purpose street tracker: a motorcycle equally at home on tarmac as it is visually arresting at a standstill.

What Makes It

The fuel tank is entirely custom-built for this motorcycle, flowing directly into the Herencia-fabricated tail section, which integrates a rear light and a glovebox into a single seamless unit. A new stainless steel exhaust was handcrafted by Herencia with a custom muffler that matches the tracker brief. The subframe was rebuilt entirely from scratch. The engine was thoroughly inspected and serviced by IVAN MOTORS to ensure mechanical integrity before the build was completed. And the surfboard carrier, fitted as standard, makes this one of the more distinctly Californian-spirited builds in the Herencia catalogue.

The Build

The front end received a KTM 690 fork with Brembo calipers, a substantial upgrade in both braking performance and suspension feel. Pro Taper bars with CRF hand controls and a Shimano Short Reach lever set the ergonomics for a rider who wants control, not comfort. Twin KC LED headlights provide the lighting. The rear suspension was rebuilt. Rolling stock is a 19/18 combination of Avon Distanzia tyres on Takasago rims, a dual-sport choice that keeps the tracker honest on road and off. A new alloy Akainik chainring and FLO MX footpegs adapted to the rear complete the component list. New carburetors with UNI filters feed the single-cylinder engine cleanly.
