AUDI UNVEILS HIGH-PERFORMANCE EMTB IN COLLABORATION WITH FANTIC
The Audi eMTB, developed in collaboration with Italian electric bike and motorcycle specialist Fantic, is a limited-edition high-performance electric mountain bike based on the Fantic XEF 1.9 Factory platform. Priced at $9,795 and equipped with a 720-Wh battery, a Brose S-MAG motor producing 90 Nm of torque, and Ohlins suspension at both ends, it represents Audi's most serious statement yet in two-wheeled electric mobility.
What Is the Audi eMTB Powered by Fantic?
Audi's partnership with Fantic, the Italian manufacturer known for its enduro and motocross heritage, produced a bike that reflects both brands' engineering priorities. The base platform is Fantic's XEF 1.9 Factory model, a high-end full-suspension electric mountain bike that already sits at the top of the Fantic lineup. Audi applied its own design language to the colorway and component specification, creating a machine that visually references the Audi RS Q e-tron Dakar rally car through its graphic treatment. The result is an eMTB that reads immediately as both a performance tool and a collector's item.
Frame, Suspension, and Wheel Geometry
The Audi eMTB uses a lightweight aluminum frame designed to promote a relaxed rider posture, which is essential for technical terrain where body position and core control determine how the bike handles obstacles. The suspension specification is track-grade: an Ohlins RXF38 m.2 air fork at the front and an Ohlins TTX22m.2 coil shock at the rear, providing full adjustability for compression, rebound, and spring rate. The mixed wheel setup, 29-inch front and 27.5-inch rear, is a deliberate choice. The larger front wheel rolls over trail obstacles with less effort while the smaller rear wheel tightens up the bike's cornering agility. Mavic tubeless-ready wheels and Vittoria e-bike-rated tires complete a specification that is trail-ready from the first ride.
Battery, Motor, and Range
The 720-Wh lithium-ion battery is integrated cleanly within the aluminum frame, keeping the centre of gravity low and protecting the pack from trail debris. It powers the Brose S-MAG motor, which delivers up to 90 Nm of torque through four assistance modes: Eco, Tour, Sport, and Boost. Estimated range spans from 20 km in full Boost mode under demanding conditions to 150 km in Eco on flat terrain, a spread that accommodates everything from an intensive enduro session to a long trail exploration day. A digital display shows assist level, battery status, and speed in real time.
