Brabus Shadow 800 - A brute on water
The Brabus Shadow 800 is the German performance tuner's answer to what a hyper-boat should look like: a twin-outboard speedboat built on the Axopar 37 Sun Top hull, dressed in Brabus black with carbon fibre accents and an Alcantara interior, and limited to just 20 hand-built units worldwide. It takes the same philosophy that Brabus applies to Mercedes AMG cars and deploys it on water, with a combined 800 hp from two Mercury Verado 400R supercharged outboards pushing the 11.2-metre hull to 50 knots.
Performance: 800 HP on Two Outboards
Each Mercury Verado 400R contributes 400 hp, giving the Shadow 800 a total output that would be remarkable in a supercar and is extraordinary in a day boat. Top speed is 50 knots, with a comfortable cruising pace around 40 knots. The 730-litre fuel tank provides a working coastal range appropriate for a boat in this performance category. Brabus did not change the Axopar 37's proven hull geometry: a deep-V form with 11.2 metres of length and 3.3 metres of beam that handles both flat-water sprints and offshore chop with equal composure.
As Power and Motor Yacht confirmed in their sea trial, the Shadow 800 delivers on its performance numbers and backs them up with the practical range and seakeeping to make those numbers relevant outside a controlled test. The twin-outboard arrangement provides redundancy as well as raw power: if one engine has a problem, the other brings the boat home.
Brabus Design on Water
The exterior bodywork, paint and deck were reworked by Brabus from the Axopar base. Gunmetal-black paint matches the carbon fibre accents throughout the deck and console, and red detailing in the signature Brabus style appears in the upholstery and instrument trim. The interior is finished in Alcantara, the material Brabus uses in its high-performance Mercedes builds, which creates the unmistakable sensory connection between a Brabus car and this boat. A small enclosed berth aft of the helm makes the Shadow 800 a competent weekender rather than a pure day boat.
The limited edition structure, 20 units only, positions the Shadow 800 as a collector object. Autoevolution's coverage described the Shadow 800 as the launch of an entirely new category, the hyper-boat, drawing a direct parallel to the hyper-SUV segment that Brabus has dominated on land. Each unit is badged as "One of Twenty" and configured with signature Brabus finishes before delivery.
Performance Boats and Luxury Watercraft at TheArsenale
The Brabus Shadow 800 occupies a specific category: extreme performance in a day-boat package. For those looking at comparable performance boats, TheArsenale carries the SAY45 RIB Speedster Carbon and the Canados Gladiator 431 performance yacht, alongside cruising options like the SuperOcean 58 luxury yacht. The full TheArsenale boats collection covers the spectrum from performance speedboats to superyachts.
