COWBOY CROSS PRESENTS A BOLD LEAP INTO ALL-TERRAIN E-BIKING

COWBOY CROSS PRESENTS A BOLD LEAP INTO ALL-TERRAIN E-BIKING - TheArsenale

Belgian e-bike brand Cowboy has launched the Cowboy Cross, its first all-terrain electric bike, designed to take the brand's signature clean urban aesthetic beyond city streets and onto mixed surfaces, gravel paths, and light off-road terrain. Priced from 3,999 euros (with an early-bird price of 3,499 euros at launch), the Cross builds on the Cowboy 4 platform with a 540 Wh battery offering up to 120 km of range, 60 mm wide tyres, front fork suspension, and a suspension seatpost, all controlled through the Cowboy Connect app.

Cowboy Cross: What Makes It Different from the Cowboy 4?

The previous Cowboy models were built exclusively for smooth urban surfaces. The Cross addresses tougher terrain in three concrete ways: wider 60 mm (2.4-inch) tyres for increased contact and grip, a 40 mm-travel inverted suspension fork for front wheel compliance, and a suspension seatpost that, according to reviewers at Cycling Electric, does more for overall comfort than the fork. The result is a bike that handles urban curbs, cobblestones, and gravel paths without sacrificing Cowboy's wire-free, minimalist aesthetic.

Battery, Range, and Charging

The 540 Wh removable battery is 50 percent larger than the maximum capacity available in previous Cowboy models, delivering a manufacturer-estimated range of up to 120 km per charge. Charging from flat takes approximately three hours, and the battery removes easily from the frame for charging indoors, an important practical consideration for apartment-based city riders. The 250W brushless geared hub motor keeps the bike within European pedelec regulations, providing assistance up to 25 km/h. Total carrying capacity is 140 kg (309 lbs), including rider and cargo, making the rear rack suitable for daily commuting loads, as reviewed by TechCrunch.

Cowboy Connect App and Smart Features

Like all Cowboy bikes, the Cross integrates with the Cowboy Connect app for iOS and Android. The app provides turn-by-turn navigation via Google Maps integration, real-time fitness tracking and community challenges, mechanical diagnostics through the bike's onboard sensors, and active crash detection that alerts a nominated contact if the bike reports an impact. Theft detection tracks the bike's location continuously. These features, combined with the Gates carbon belt drive (no chain to maintain), hydraulic disc brakes, and the three-year warranty, position the Cowboy Cross as a premium buy for the connected urban-to-outdoor cyclist.
