Maserati’s bespoke division, Fuoriserie, has unveiled a striking collaboration with the celebrated Japanese streetwear designer and musician Hiroshi Fujiwara. Known for his influence on global fashion trends, Fujiwara takes his design ethos to the automotive world with two distinct editions of the Maserati MC20 Cielo. This partnership, described as part of the “Fuoriserie By” series, represents the automaker’s vision to merge luxury, performance, and personalization. Fujiwara’s touch not only reimagines the design but also incorporates his signature lightning bolt motif, temporarily replacing the iconic Trident emblem. With matte black (“Nero Essenza”) and matte white (“Bianco Audace”) finishes, these creations are the epitome of bespoke artistry.
Each MC20 Cielo edition boasts rich craftsmanship, blending functionality with Fujiwara's minimalist streetwear aesthetic. The six-way power sport seats are wrapped in black leather with white stitching, exuding sophistication, while the intricate details—such as a commemorative collaboration plate between the seats—elevate the car's exclusive appeal. The standout feature is the car’s retractable smart glass roof, which allows the MC20 Cielo to bridge iconic design with cutting-edge technology. Even with Fujiwara's branding, Maserati’s Italian heritage shines through, harmonizing the worlds of high-performance automobiles and artistic individuality.
This collaboration is not merely about aesthetics—it is a deep exploration of how luxury cars can serve as a medium for self-expression. Klaus Busse, Maserati’s head of design, emphasizes that the Fuoriserie program aims to let clients reflect their personalities through the vehicles they drive. The Hiroshi Fujiwara MC20 Cielo perfectly embodies this ethos, pushing boundaries to create one-of-a-kind collector’s items. As the first in Maserati’s “Fuoriserie By” series, it sets the stage for future collaborations, redefining bespoke luxury in a way that bridges performance, craftsmanship, and artistic vision.
