UK-based mobility company Bo has raised the bar for performance e-scooters with its latest creation, the Turbo. Developed by a team with experience in Formula One and land-speed record vehicles, the Turbo is no ordinary urban scooter. Bo’s engineers have leveraged high-performance racing technology to deliver a two-wheel machine capable of surpassing 100 mph (160 km/h). While drawing some of its design from the consumer-grade Bo Model M, the Turbo features a remarkable suite of upgrades, including twin electric motors and a custom-built, high-capacity 88-volt battery. The result is an electric scooter that accelerates from 0 to 60 mph (0–100 km/h) in under 5 seconds, outrunning even a Tesla Model 3.

Achieving this level of speed and performance required significant innovations in both engineering and cooling. The Turbo boasts an F1-inspired brake duct inlet and a ram-air induction system to manage the enormous heat generated by its powertrain. Its aluminum ‘Monocurve’ chassis, derived from the Bo Model M, doubles as a heat sink for the high-performance battery, ensuring optimal efficiency. To handle the demands of racing, the scooter incorporates CNC billet-machined components and a lightweight, non-folding design. Professional racer Tre Whyte has already tested the Turbo on the Goodwood Motor Circuit in the UK, where it hit 85 mph (135 km/h) during initial trials. Bo's team continues to refine the scooter, aiming to reach its ambitious 100-mph goal.

Priced at $29,500, the Turbo targets a niche market of track enthusiasts and extreme speed aficionados. Bo has limited its production to built-to-order units, requiring prospective riders to provide documentation of their previous experience with high-performance machines. Far from being a daily commuter vehicle, the Turbo is positioned as a luxury performance product designed for adrenaline seekers on closed circuits. Its aggressive acceleration and premium construction highlight the convergence of cutting-edge technology with a love for speed, offering a unique product that merges the worlds of racing and urban mobility.
