Compared to the Goodwood record-setter, the Pure gains wider tyres, an enhanced powertrain, improved cooling, and a chassis extended by 10 inches (254 mm) to accommodate drivers up to 6 feet 7 inches tall. Where the record car was built for a single maximum-effort sprint, the Pure is engineered for multiple consecutive laps, with a larger battery pack calibrated for endurance rather than outright peak performance. McMurtry opened order books at the 2023 Goodwood Festival of Speed, where the Pure made its global public debut.

Every benchmark electric track car to date has relied on conventional aerodynamic devices: large wings, diffusers, and complex underfloor channels. The Speirling Pure renders most of those solutions secondary by generating its primary downforce mechanically rather than aerodynamically. The all-electric powertrain delivers instant torque with none of the thermal lag that affects combustion-powered track cars, while regenerative braking through the fan system recovers energy on every deceleration.
