Lamborghini Squadra Corse unveils the SC18 Alston
The Lamborghini SC18 Alston is the first one-off car ever created by Squadra Corse, Lamborghini's motorsport division. Built on the Aventador SVJ platform for a single unnamed private client, it is simultaneously a road-legal car and a track-optimised racing machine, developed with the same engineering team that campaigns Lamborghini in GT competition worldwide.
Squadra Corse Meets Centro Stile
The SC18 Alston was produced through a collaboration between Lamborghini Squadra Corse, which handles all factory racing programs, and Lamborghini Centro Stile, the in-house design studio. That pairing is unusual: racing divisions build cars for performance, design studios build them for aesthetics. The SC18 Alston had to satisfy both departments simultaneously, which explains the striking tension in its appearance: aggressive aerodynamic surfaces that carry genuine functional purpose, wrapped in a red and black colour scheme that reads as pure theatre.
Specifications: 770 hp and 210 mph
The powertrain is the naturally aspirated 6.5-litre V12 carried over from the Aventador SVJ, producing 770 hp at 8,500 rpm and 720 Nm of peak torque. Drive goes to all four wheels through a seven-speed single-clutch ISR gearbox operated by steering column paddles. Top speed is rated at 210 mph.
The aerodynamics were developed specifically for this car and draw directly from Squadra Corse's GT racing programme. The front hood features large air intakes styled after the Huracan GT3 EVO. The sides carry fenders and air scoops derived from the Huracan Super Trofeo EVO. At the rear, a large carbon fibre wing adjusts to three settings: maximum downforce for cornering, a balanced mid-position, and minimum drag for straight-line speed. Twelve rear hood air intakes improve cooling of the V12 under track conditions.
The body is entirely carbon fibre, reducing weight compared with the production SVJ. Wheels are 20 inches at the front and 21 at the rear, shod with specially developed Pirelli P Zero Corsa tyres. The cockpit is finished in black Alcantara with red cross-stitching and carbon fibre bucket seats. A lap telemetry system records track performance data for the owner.
Street Legal, Track Built
The SC18 Alston is type-approved for road use, meaning it can be registered and driven on public roads in the markets where it was homologated. In practice, its every detail prioritises circuit performance.
