MAHINDRA UNVEILS INGLO EV PLATFORM AND E-SUV LINEUP

MAHINDRA UNVEILS INGLO EV PLATFORM AND E-SUV LINEUP - TheArsenale

Mahindra and Mahindra has announced a new chapter in Indian automotive history with the unveiling of the INGLO EV platform and a lineup of five electric SUVs: the XUV.e8, XUV.e9, BE.05, BE.07, and BE.09. Built around a modular, skateboard-style architecture designed for both Indian and global markets, the INGLO platform underpins Mahindra's most ambitious product offensive in the company's history, with deliveries scheduled between 2024 and 2026.

What Is the Mahindra INGLO Platform?

INGLO stands for Indian Global, and the name captures the platform's dual mandate: purpose-built for Indian road conditions and buyer preferences, but engineered to meet global standards for safety, technology, and performance. The platform is modular and scalable, accommodating different wheelbases, body overhangs, and SUV proportions across the five models. Mahindra claims the INGLO skateboard is among the lightest in the electric SUV segment, using LFP cells sourced from Volkswagen. Battery capacity ranges from 60 kWh for entry-level configurations to 80 kWh for range-topping variants, with DC fast charging support up to 175 kW.

The Five Electric SUVs: XUV and BE Brands

Mahindra introduces two brand identities within the INGLO range. The XUV brand (XUV.e8 and XUV.e9) carries forward Mahindra's SUV heritage: the XUV.e8 is the electric counterpart of the XUV700, measuring 4,740 mm in length with a 2,762 mm wheelbase. The BE brand (BE.05, BE.07, and BE.09) addresses a younger, more design-forward buyer. The BE.05, at 4,370 mm in length, adopts a sports-SUV profile with a dramatic exterior and is expected to reach 100 km/h in under 6 seconds in all-wheel-drive specification. Both brands share the Heartcore design philosophy: commanding proportions, strong surface tension, and an attitude that departs from conventional Indian SUV design language.

Technology: Augmented Reality, 5G, and Over-the-Air Updates

The INGLO platform integrates a comprehensive technology stack. An augmented reality heads-up display, edge-to-edge screens across the interior, 5G network connectivity, and over-the-air software update capability are all standard across the lineup. Mahindra positions the INGLO-based vehicles as connected devices as much as SUVs, with the computing architecture designed to allow new features to be added after purchase. Power outputs range from 170 kW (228 hp) in rear-wheel-drive form to 250 kW (335 hp) in all-wheel-drive specification.

Sustainability and Heartcore Design Philosophy

Mahindra's design language for the INGLO range centers on three values: commanding presence, inner strength, and a distinctive attitude. The company describes this as Heartcore, and it manifests in surfaces that are bold and sculptural rather than the conservative, inoffensive shapes that previously dominated the Indian SUV segment. The sustainability dimension of the INGLO platform goes beyond the zero-emission powertrain: the platform architecture itself is designed for a long production life, with the ability to adapt to new battery chemistries and power electronics as they become available.
