What Is the Pagani Huayra Lampo?
Lampo means lightning in Italian, and the name captures the spirit of this collaboration. The car took two years to develop, making it one of the longest and most involved bespoke projects Pagani has undertaken for a single commission. Garage Italia Customs, the creative studio founded by Lapo Elkann, approached Pagani with a specific brief: to recreate the emotional impact of the 1954 Fiat Turbina in a contemporary hypercar that could actually be driven.
The Fiat Turbina Connection
The 1954 Fiat Turbina was a gas-turbine-powered concept that never entered production, but its aerodynamic shape and distinctive orange and silver livery made it one of the most memorable Italian designs of the postwar era. The Turbina ran on a 300 hp turbine engine, revolutionary technology for the mid-1950s, and its smooth enclosed bodywork anticipated jet-age styling by years.
The Huayra Lampo adopts the Turbina's signature colour palette: orange-red and silver, applied to the Huayra's carbon fibre bodywork. Additional carbon components from the Huayra BC were integrated to sharpen the aerodynamic profile. The result visually links two entirely different eras of Italian engineering ambition.
Performance: AMG V12 Instead of a Turbine
Unlike the Fiat Turbina, the Huayra Lampo is powered by a 6.0-litre twin-turbocharged AMG V12 producing 730 hp and 1,000 Nm of torque. This is the standard Huayra drivetrain, but in a car that weighs around 1,350 kg in carbon fibre, the performance is extreme. The 730 hp figure puts the Lampo in the same bracket as contemporary hypercars from Ferrari and Lamborghini, while Pagani's handmade construction and bespoke specification place it in an entirely different category of exclusivity.
Bespoke Interior by a Turin Artisan
The Huayra's interior was entirely handmade by a Turin-based artisan. Brown leather upholstery is combined with a white and red checkered pattern, a direct visual reference to Italian motorsport heritage. Dashboard finishes are in carbon and anodised bronze aluminium. Every element was chosen to reinforce the historical narrative running through the car: Italy's long tradition of coachbuilt bespoke vehicles, from the original Turbina concept to the modern Pagani atelier in San Cesario sul Panaro.

Garage Italia Customs operates from Milan's Fiat Mirafiori hangar with Lapo Elkann as creative director.
