Created in partnership between British hypercar maker Aston Martin and Florida-based submarine specialist Triton Submarines, Project Neptune is a three-person submersible rated to depths of 500 metres, capable of speeds in excess of 5 knots, and finished with the same devotion to material quality and craftsmanship that defines Aston Martin's road cars.
What Is Project Neptune?
Project Neptune is built on Triton's Low Profile three-person platform, one of the most proven personal submarine architectures in the world. Triton provided the engineering foundation and the deep-sea expertise; Aston Martin contributed the exterior design, interior detailing, and material specification. The result is a submersible that looks like it belongs in the same product family as the Aston Martin Valkyrie hypercar, sharing the same progressive design language and the same obsession with precision manufacturing.
Performance and Specifications
Project Neptune is rated to a maximum depth of 500 metres, covering the majority of the world's recreational dive sites and coastal superyacht anchorages. Top speed exceeds 5 knots, with approximately four times the acceleration of Triton's previous flagship submersible, the 3300/3. Operational endurance is around eight hours per dive, with capacity for two front-seated passengers and one rear-seated pilot.
The acrylic canopy provides panoramic visibility at depth, while iridium coating on the exterior surfaces gives the submarine its distinctive visual identity. Aston Martin's in-house design team developed three styling specifications, each offering combinations of exterior colours and interior trims. Pricing for Project Neptune is positioned at approximately $4 million.
Design and Interior
Aston Martin Executive Vice President and Chief Creative Officer Marek Reichman described the approach: "Project Neptune is defined by its sleek, elegant exterior. We have used forms and proportions that express the same devotion to design, engineering and beauty that shape our cars." The interior combines hand-stitched leather with high-performance carbon fibre panels, maintaining the same tactile quality expected from Aston Martin's road car cabin. Every surface the occupants encounter is finished to automotive standards, which is unprecedented at this depth rating.
