The last time we talked about Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus, we discussed their SCG 003 Competizione sports car that sold 4 units, 3 track-only ones and a Competizione Stradale homologated for the streets.
Back in 2010, James Glickenhaus purchased Steven McQueen's Baja Boot. For those of you who are unfamiliar, the Baja Boot is a one off vehicle built by Hurst in only 26 days. They put together a bunch of GM parts and created a beast of a vehicle to conquer the rough terrain of Mexico. Despite failing its first two race debuts, McQueen backed it up and it went on to win the Baja 500 of 1969. Inspired by this rugged machine, James Glickenhaus has presented his concept for the new Baja Boot.
Until now, the Baja Boot is just a rendering but the plans have solid ground. SCG has already found the manufacturers to make the components. It also aims to compete in the Baja 1000 along with the world's biggest manufacturers. The new Baja Boot will be powered by a 5.6 liter V8 to make sure it can handle every challenge thrown its way. An 'Expedition' version is also planned aiming to set world records for altitude and distance. SCG also went as far as to offer an official invite to all major SUV manufacturers to join them during the adventure. Two-door Baja Boots will cost you $250,000 and four-door ones will run you $275,000.
