Adrian Newey's Most Extreme Road-Derived Creation
Adrian Newey has designed more Formula 1 World Championship-winning cars than any other engineer in the sport's history. His involvement in the Aston Martin Valkyrie programme, announced as a collaboration between Aston Martin and Red Bull Racing, brought genuine F1 thinking to a road-legal hypercar for the first time. The infotainment system is gone. The cabin heating and demisting blower are gone. The traditional windscreen has been replaced with a lightweight polycarbonate unit. The side windows are also polycarbonate. The body is carbon fibre throughout. Even the suspension wishbones and uprights are carbon fibre, a material choice that requires extraordinary precision in design to handle the loads involved but saves critical unsprung weight.

The 6.5-Litre Cosworth V12: Naturally Aspirated and Uncompromised
At the heart of the Valkyrie AMR Pro is a 6.5-litre Cosworth V12 engine developed specifically for the programme. Cosworth, who built some of the most celebrated Formula 1 engines of the 1960s and 1970s, brought that heritage to the design of a unit that revs to extraordinary levels and produces power in a way that no turbocharged engine can replicate: linear, immediate, and with a sound unlike anything else in the hypercar segment.
The V12 is supplemented by a hybrid system that provides additional electrical power for deployment from a kinetic energy recovery unit, allowing the driver to draw on extra output at specific moments on the track. Combined, the drivetrain produces figures that the Red Bull Racing simulator confirmed would result in lap times equivalent to a 2018-specification Formula 1 car on certain circuits.

Active Aerodynamics: Adapting to Every Corner
The Valkyrie AMR Pro features an active aerodynamic control system that adjusts downforce levels based on speed and driver input. This allows the driver to configure the aerodynamic balance for different circuit characteristics: high-downforce settings for slow, technical tracks and lower-drag configurations for high-speed circuits where straightline performance is the priority.
The aerodynamic package generates downforce levels that press the tyres onto the circuit surface with enough force to make high-speed cornering physically demanding for the driver. The moulded race seats, replacing conventional adjustable chairs, are designed to keep the driver secure under lateral loads that would exceed anything encountered in any road car.

25 Units, All Sold Out
Aston Martin built exactly 25 examples of the Valkyrie AMR Pro. All were allocated before the car entered production, with deliveries beginning in 2020. At £3.3 million per car, the AMR Pro was one of the most expensive new vehicles ever offered by any British manufacturer. The owners received not just a car but full track support from Aston Martin Racing, including dedicated engineers and a programme of circuit events.
