Twisted Automotive has been a hallmark of high-end Defender builds and they just recently introduced a green offering based on the Defender 90.
The limited-edition NAS-E Defender 90 ditches the LS V8 for a direct-drive electric motor with 214 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque. It uses a 60kWh battery pack that provides a supple 200-mile range while still keeping its four-wheel drive and two-speed transfer case. In typical Twisted fashion, the Defender has been completely rebuilt from the ground-up and features in-house components such as Twisted Sport wheels, performance brakes, NAS roll cage, and a Bimini hood. The interior also receives a luxurious treatment with an upgraded, lush interior that features a rarity in today's automotive world; a three-place front bench seat.
Twisted has plans to offer the electric SUV in other Defender body styles in the future, keeping the total number of NAS-E units under 30. This line of Defenders will come in three funky colors: Malibu yellow, Tahoe blue and Yosemite green in tribute of California's incredible outdoors.
