XPENG TO LAUNCH STUNNING P7 ELECTRIC SEDAN WITH ADVANCED AI FEATURES IN 2025

The Xpeng P7 is a next-generation electric sports sedan that combines Chinese engineering ambition with advanced AI driving technology. Designed by Rafik Ferrag around the principle of "classic simplicity," the P7 launched globally in 2025 with a starting price under $31,000 and a maximum range of 820 km, positioning it as one of the most capable and accessible AI-defined electric sedans on the market today.

What Makes the Xpeng P7 Different?

The P7 is built on Xpeng's 800-volt high-voltage platform and powered by three in-house Turing AI chips delivering 2,250 TOPS of computing power. Two chips handle autonomous driving while the third manages the smart cockpit, enabling support for Vision-Language-Action (VLA) and Vision-Language Model (VLM) systems. VLA allows the car to proactively read driving environments and make routing decisions; VLM powers an intelligent cabin assistant capable of context-aware responses and proactive interaction. These are not badge-engineered systems from third-party suppliers, they are Xpeng's own technology.

Performance, Range, and Safety

The P7 is available in single- and dual-motor configurations. The dual-motor variant accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds. Three battery options cover 702 km, 750 km, and 820 km of range, with rapid charging delivering 525 km of range in just 10 minutes. Safety credentials are strong: the P7 earned five-star ratings from both C-NCAP and Euro NCAP, making it one of the few Chinese electric sedans to achieve that dual certification. A panoramic glass ceiling extending from front passengers to the rear trunk adds to the interior's sense of space despite the sporty silhouette.

What Is the Interior Like?

Xpeng calls the P7's cabin a "Technology Island" layout. An 87-inch AR-HUD system anchors the driver's visual field, paired with a 15.6-inch central control screen featuring 3-axis movement. The VLM cabin butler includes a first-in-class four-zone external voice control system. Sustainable materials and a clean, minimalist aesthetic keep the interior lean in visual noise while maximizing digital depth. For buyers who want AI-defined sedan driving without the premium pricing of European or American alternatives, the P7 makes a compelling argument.
