The RIOCAM Blue Car is a monumental automotive photography print on velvet fabric, capturing a vivid blue automobile through the saturated, voyeuristic eye of Miami photographer Camilo Rios White.
The Artist
Born in Medellin, Colombia and raised in Fort Worth, Texas, Camilo Rios White spent a decade shaping the visual identity of fashion in Miami. The Webster, Del Toro, Cotton Citizen, Stella McCartney, OFFWHITE, ERES Paris, and L'Oreal all passed through his lens. He is Founder and Creative Director of United Rivers and a founding partner of Toys for Boys Magazine. His photographic sensibility draws from the renegade boldness of Chris Von Wangenheim, Guy Bourdin, and Helmut Newton, three photographers who redefined what imagery could be. Rios carries that lineage into a contemporary context: outdoor light over studio setups, raw moments over polished arrangements, color as the primary subject. Miami is his medium as much as any camera.
The Piece
Blue Car places color at the center of the frame. The subject vehicle's electric blue body reads as both document and feeling: a snapshot of a Miami automotive moment rendered in the luminous, plush surface of velvet/velore fabric. That material choice is deliberate. Where a standard photographic print flattens, velvet absorbs and enriches, giving the blue a presence that shifts under different lighting conditions. The photograph arrives in a floating frame, sized at 60 x 40 inches, scaled to anchor a room rather than decorate a corner.
