Honda CB900 Bol D'Or

The Honda CB900 Bol d'Or cafe racer by Cafe Racer SSpirit is a 1982 CB900 rebuilt from the ground up into a strikingly clean, fully upgraded custom with a distinct endurance racing identity.

The Concept

The Bol d'Or name references one of the oldest and most demanding endurance races in motorcycle history, run at Le Mans and later Magny-Cours. Cafe Racer SSpirit channelled that spirit into this 1982 Honda CB900, stripping the donor bike to its essentials and rebuilding it with a racing-derived brief: clean lines, performance suspension, and a single-seat silhouette that communicates speed before the engine fires.

What Makes It

The paintjob is special-order, applying a scheme that works with the CB900's proportions rather than against them. A custom-made single seat with integrated tail replaces the original unit, and custom fenders front and rear complete the bodywork transformation. The headlight, turn signals, and brake clamps are all new, bringing the electrical and braking systems in line with the visual intent. Radio rims on both wheels give the silhouette a distinctly purposeful, period-correct look.

The Build

Mechanically, the CB900 received an inverted fork suspension at the front, a significant upgrade from the stock setup, dramatically improving handling feel and steering precision. Power filters feed the engine cleanly, the digital speedometer keeps the cockpit minimal, and the artisan exhaust routes the four cylinders with character. Semi-handlebars set the riding position forward and low, exactly where a cafe racer should place its rider.
