The Story
The 1993 British Grand Prix at Silverstone was one of the defining early rides of the young Michael Schumacher, driving the Benetton B193. He finished second, only 7.6 seconds behind Alain Prost and the dominant Williams-Renault of that era, cementing his status as the sport's next generational talent. The helmet on offer here was on his head during that race weekend. After the season, Schumacher personally gifted and dedicated the helmet to the proprietor of Le Michelangelo, a restaurant in Monaco, with the handwritten inscription: To Michelangelo, best wishes and Merry Christmas.
